Ah the Mystic Portal

This is Blisworth Tunnel's northern portal which was built using blue brick.  As there was no tow path to walk along in the tunnel we had to swim through.

Blisworth Mill

This was once used as a depot for the Grand Union Canal Carrying Company but is now rather impressive apartments.

Quite an idyllic spot to park your caravan and less busy than most caravan sites!

Inconvenient

Here we are ready to start at Stowe Hill.  We chose this starting point because the road (Watling Street) goes over the canal so we could actually get it.  It is becoming more rural so the number of road intersections is getting less.  This one looked very promising however, as there was a pub marked on the road so we planned to go to have a comfort break after our long car journey while Brendan had a cup of coffee.  Unfortunately when we arrived we discovered that the pub was closed for refurbishment.  The lack of toilets along the canal is definitely one of the talking points of our walks.
