The Evening's Entertainment

There's our restaurant for this evening.  No not the handmade burger co. the canal barge behind!

A unique dining experience indeed!

It felt different seeing the Mailbox from the water.

Checking the menu for our 5 course dinner - luckily one course was sorbet.

Sampling some of the food and wine.
We have not got as many photos as we should have of the dinner cruise because of the camera memory card problems but we managed to get a photo of all of us except Brendan who was the man of the moment as it was his birthday.

The Mailbox looked spectacular when we returned to it after it had gone dark.

The barge went out to the Vale where the Birmingham University halls of residence are.  We were able to get out there and have a bit of a walk.  Andy was particularly amazed to see how close his flat had been to the canal because he hadn't known of it's existence when he lived there.

We were very impressed by the standard of the food and service on the dinner cruise.  We got talking to the owner and she was telling us about the barges that they run as hotel boats.  We decided that we might investigate that further after all you can't spend too much time on the canals!
